The difference between the TSN-DA and TSN-PA adapters lies in how they attach. The TSN-DA adapter mounts directly onto the eyepiece itself, making it perfect for lighter cameras with MFT sensors. Heavier DSLR cameras benefit more from the TSN-PA adapter, which offers added stability by attaching the camera straight to the spotting scope’s body. With the Kowa TSN-DA20 adapter, you can count on compatibility with the Kowa TSN-601/TSN-66 and TSN-82SV series using the TE-Z9B or TE-14WD eyepieces. The TSN 550 series and Kowa High Lander models with 21x, 32x, and 50x eyepieces also fit perfectly. Many classic Kowa spotting scopes can be equipped with the TSN-DA20 too, making it ideal for fans of valuable vintage gear.

Plus, if you own a spotting scope from the Kowa TSN-99/TSN-88/TSN-880/TSN-770 series with a Kowa TE-11WZ or TE-80XW eyepiece, you’ll want the TSN-DA10 adapter, which is also available in our optional accessories.

On Camera Body with Kowa TSN-AR42GT

Remove the Twist Up from the eyepiece and screw in the DA20’s inner ring to create a solid connection.
Attach the optional Kowa TSN-AR42GT adapter ring (found in optional accessories) to the DA20’s outer ring, then connect it to your camera using a T2 adapter.
Assemble everything with your camera and secure the DA20 to the camera body over the inner ring, tightening it with the thumb screw. Happy digiscoping!

On Filter Thread with Kowa TSN-AR Adapter Rings

Prefer connecting via your camera lens? Use the TSN-DA20 together with Kowa adapter rings for your lens’s filter thread. Available sizes are 28, 30, 30.5, 37, 43, 46, 58, 62, and 72mm. If none of these fit, simply use a step-up or step-down ring. Want to know more? Feel free to ask us about the options.

One important note: although the system is compatible with all sensor sizes, cameras with heavier lenses can put extra pressure on the filter thread. Therefore, Kowa is not responsible for any damage to your equipment caused by these adapters.
